Tomorrow sometimes (or maybe earlier), we will know what the US will do with its stimulus program.  Most advanced stock markets including ours will most likely respond in a relatively big way.  At 3.30pm QLD time, we will know who is the winner of our “predict the XJO” competition.  A $200 Myer voucher (will help Xmas shopping) will be given to the closest prediction to the closing level of the index.

Will they make $3800 net profit on 19th December? You be the judge!

This trade (see FULL market report) was done on 26th November and the options will expire on 19th December.  The trade will end up in MAXIMUM  profit to the extent of $4,000 less commission if the XJO (ASX200 Index will end up somewhere between 5500 and 5100).  On Friday it finished at 5186.  The clients cannot lose money if the index finished between 5050 and 5550 (these are the breakeven levels) except for the commission.  As long as the  XJO ...

We did not care if XJO (ASX200) went up or down. My client made money in November!

As long as the  XJO traded up or down within a range of 5500 and 5100 between 21 October when we entered the trade and 19 November when the options expired.  At that latter date the options expired worthless, and my client kept the money he received as credit upfront and after commission he made $600.

The better news – instead of outlaying some of his capital, he received $800 up front as credit.  And as all the options expired worthless, ...

We don’t care if IPL, QBE and STO went up or down. Our clients made money in November!

As long as they traded up or down within a range.  At the end of November when the options expired worthless, clients kept the money they received as credit upfront and after commission they made money.  In IPL they made approximately $600 (net profit), in QBE they made $200 and in STO they made $550 (net after commissions).
